This contemporary burner is hand-carved from palewa stone and has a glass dish on top. Palewa is a common Indian soapstone which has been used for carving for centuries. The high talc content of soapstone such as this make it relatively soft and ideal for carving. Handmade by skilled artisans in India, supported by TradeAid New Zealand.
